does ammonia coordinate with VO(acac)2 via its nitrogen atom???

yes, vanadium is considered coordinatively unsaturated and hence addition of NH3 leads to the formation of octahedral complexes like in case of pyridine. In VO(acac)2, vanadium is five-coordinate with a square-based pyramidal geometry with one vacant coordination site. This in turn reacts with nitrogen-donors where vanadium is six-coordinate.

Vanadium in VO(acac)2 exists as VO(IV) called oxovanadyl ion. Usually it is 5 co-ordinate with Oxygen at the apical position. 6 coordinated geometry is observed when 2 Vanadium metal centres get linked by bridging oxygens forming bimetallic complexes. I dont know exactly if NH3 can coordinate with VO(acac)2. perhaps it needs an oxidation of VO(IV) to V(V) oxidation state.
